The race is on to gather enough signatures for a petition calling for an increase in the personal income tax allowance to £20,000 to force a debate in Westminster.
The petition has reached more than 75,000 signatures in the past six months and is due to close on February 28 - less than a week away.
The petition urges the government to boost the personal income tax allowance from £12,570 to £20,000.
The Treasury has already responded to the campaign, explaining the government is committed to keeping taxes as 'low as possible' and confirming the personal allowance will not increase to £20,000.
The Treasury said: "The government currently has no plans to increase the personal allowance to £20,000. Increasing the personal allowance to £20,000 would come at a significant fiscal cost of more than £50 billion a year. This would reduce tax receipts substantially, decreasing funds available for hospitals, schools, and other essential public services that we all rely on."
Other popular petitions with more than a thousand signatures include calls to abolish ground rent on leasehold homes, to speed up the eviction process for tenants renting from private landlords, and to change the way landlords claim mortgage interest relief.
