Notice Proposing Different Terms

THIS FORM IS ONLY SUITABLE FOR ENGLAND!

Under section 6 Housing Act 1988, a landlord or tenant may propose changes to a statutory periodic tenancy (after the fixed term has expired) as long as it is done within the first anniversary of the end of the fixed term. Such a proposal may also propose a change in the rent.

This notice is the prescribed form required by section 6. This notice is rarely used, so please only use it after consultation with us. Usually, any changes are better negotiated, and a tenancy agreement is drawn up to reflect any changes. Further, if you use our tenancy, this notice is unsuitable because our tenancies do not go "statutory periodic".

If you are proposing a new rent only, this form is unsuitable, and a section 13 rent increase notice must be used instead.
