Does a gas safety record need redoing after a new hob is installed?

Question
We had our annual gas safety check carried out recently and the engineer marked the hob as unsafe and disconnected it. We had a brand new hob fitted a couple of days later. Does the gas safety record need to be updated to reflect the new appliance? Our engineer says no. We're also currently going through possession proceedings as we're selling the property.
