Can I require a two‑month tenant notice period on a rolling periodic assured shorthold tenancy (AST)? Specifically: is the Guild tenancy agreement's "tenant's notice to terminate" clause a fixed/default clause requiring two months' notice, can I edit it to one month (before signing), can I insist on the two months in practice, and can the notice period be changed once the agreement is signed? Is it lawful to require one month or two months' tenant notice on a periodic tenancy?
