Generate Applicant Reference Reports Easily
When an applicant has submitted their application form, you can quickly generate a tenancy assessment report using their details in one of two ways. Please note that each report uses 900 credits.
From the applicant list
Navigate to the Applicants list via the sidebar in Tenancy Builder at Applications -> Applicants.
From the list, click Reference using the action button for the record (a square button with a cog icon).
This will auto-populate the applicant’s data into a new reference page. Please review each page carefully to ensure the data has been accurately populated—especially the address fields. For example, confirm the town is correctly entered in the Town field and that the house number or name is present.
From the referencing page
Go to the Referencing page via the sidebar in Tenancy Builder - Referencing, then click Add above the list on the right.
Under Your Details, use the dropdown labelled Add from applicants to select the applicant. Their details will be auto-filled. Again, please review all pages carefully to ensure all information is accurate, particularly the address fields (for example, the town data is in the Town field, and the house number or name is included).
Zero report
Although rare, zero reports do happen, and any credits will have been automatically refunded for the report.
A zero report means that the credit bureau was unable to find any data about the applicant. This could be for several reasons, including:
- They are very young with no credit history.
- They have only been in the country for a short period.
- The applicant has provided false information to avoid being found.
You should try again, manually checking all the information carefully for any mistakes. In particular, ensure that all addresses are correctly entered in the appropriate fields (for example, making sure the town is really in the Town field—sometimes when we import from an applicant, the address can get slightly muddled).
If you receive another zero report after carefully checking, then unfortunately, no data has been found. In that case, you need to take extra care with the applicant and request more documentation than usual. This should include a copy of their ID, payslip information, and a recent utility bill showing their name and current address clearly. Please check as thoroughly as possible for any forged documents.
