Online Course
You will need to log in. Remember, you have 12 months to complete the training and don't have to complete all the content in one sitting.
To complete the accreditation, follow the steps below:
For landlords and agents
Landlords and agents must complete the landlord module.
- Go through the online content and click the button at the bottom of each page to proceed.
- Once you've read all the content, a quiz link will be displayed on the last page.
- Complete the quiz to get a link to download the certificate.
For agents
After the landlord module, you'll proceed to the agent content, which is shorter.
Please read the content and click the link at the bottom to proceed. After completing the quiz, you'll get a link to download your certificate.
How long does the course take to complete?
The time it takes to complete the course depends on various factors. Some customers finish the course and quiz on the same day, while others prefer to spread the reading over several days or weeks.
My local council want me to become accredited - is this the right course for me?
Your local authority may require you to become accredited to obtain a property license or to obtain a discount for a license. The local authority might only require HMOs to be licensed, or they might have selective licensing, which means all rented property within the area requires a licence.
You must check with your local authority where your property is located whether our accreditation course is suitable. Many local authorities throughout England recognise the Private Rented Sector Accreditation Scheme (PRSAS), but not all of them. Usually, they will have a list of recognised schemes and courses on their website. It would be best if you looked for any of the following:
- PRSAS
- Private Rented Sector Accreditation Scheme
- Guild of Residential Landlords
- PRSAS operated by GRL
If they approve any course which requires reading content and passing a quiz, then our course is likely suitable.
Renewal accreditation within six months
Renewal accreditation doesn't require you to read the content if renewed within six months of expiry. Instead, you can follow the email link to direct you to the quiz.
Access Code for the quiz
In rare instances, you may be asked for an access code. It is available in your account area on the accreditation instructions page.
Please note, if you are trying to access the quiz immediately after paying - particularly for a renewal where there's no content to read first - the access code can take up to 60 seconds before it becomes available whilst our system processes your payment and makes the necessary data available to the quiz system.
Copy and paste the code into the box.
You shouldn't be asked for the code, and if you have been asked to fill in an access code, it may indicate a problem when updating the system with your data after payment. If manually entering the access code doesn't work, please submit a support ticket, and we will look into it and provide a fix.
What if I fail?
You're allowed one more attempt if you fail the landlord or agent quizzes on the first try. We recommend you re-read the content or any sections you need clarification on.
Certificate Access
Once you've completed the landlord quiz (for landlords) or both quizzes (for agents), your certificate will be available for download from the dashboard of the primary account page.
The certificate is located on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
Need help?
Please submit a support ticket if you need help accessing the course, quizzes, or other problems. This is usually faster than calling as it directs your query to our tech support department, which is better equipped to handle website issues.
