Court Fees for Possession Claims
For possession claims the court fees for making a possession claim are as follows:
- accelerated possession (N5B) £391.00
- standard possession claim on papers (N5 and N119) £391.00
- Possession claim online (PCOL) £391.00
After a possession order has been obtained, if the tenant remains in the property, the bailiff will have to be obtained. It costs £143 to issue a warrant of possession (recovery of a property or land).
The fee varies depending on the amount being claimed for issuing a small claim (for example, for rent arrears or damages). Please see EX50 for more details.
All court fees can be found in form EX50.
If you send a cheque with your forms, it should be made payable to HMCTS (HM Courts & Tribunals Service).
It's important to note that while some courts may accept credit or debit cards, this is not a universal practice. If you plan to use this method, it's advisable to check with the court nearest to the tenancy address before submitting your form.
