Analyse Tenant Applications with AI Tools
After a prospective tenant completes the online application form, you can use AI to summarise the application data, including bank transactions, if authorised.
To ask the prospective tenant to authorise 90 days of bank transactions using the secure Open Banking protocol, ensure to select the option when adding the applicant.
Analyse the application
To analyse the application, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Applicants in the sidebar of the Tenancy Builder part of the website
- View the application via the actions button
- Scroll to the bottom and click Analyze with AI.
The first analysis may take a few moments, and a detailed application summary will be displayed. The summary will include bank transactions if the prospective tenant authorised them.
Upload files
At this time, any files that the applicant uploads, such as payslips or passports, are not added to the AI summary.
However, you can manually upload any PDF document to the AI, including passports, payslips, accounts or references.
Questions about the application
Once the first summary has been completed, you can ask follow-up questions about the application. Bank transaction questions will only work if the prospective tenant authorises them.
Example questions for the AI might include:
- Using the bank transaction data, confirm regular income transactions
- How old is the applicant
- How long have they been living at their current address
- Using the bank transaction data, does the applicant have the means to afford the property?
Viewing bank transactions
The bank transactions are sent to us in a complex JSON format, which isn't easily read by humans but is good for the AI to read.
You can view the applicant's transactions as raw data by doing the following:
- View the applicant and click Analyse with AI at the bottom
- After the initial summary has been completed, close the AI popup with the X at the top right
- Click Analyse with AI again. This time, at the top of the chat, you will see all the raw data that was passed to the AI for the initial summary, including any transactions we have received.
If you want a more readable list of transactions, try typing "Please generate a CSV table of last month's transactions" into the AI.
(You might try the last week or months' transactions to begin with. Some of the data we are sent can be hundreds of lines).
Saving the AI response
It's a good idea to save both the application form as a PDF (see the separate button for that when viewing the applicant) and the AI response. To save the AI response, click the Print/Save button at the bottom of the AI chat.
Feedback
We'd be grateful for feedback on questions that work particularly well or poorly. Or, anything else about the applicant system generally.
