How to Cancel a Tenancy Agreement

Before the document is completed, you can cancel a tenancy agreement sent for digital signing by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Tenancy Builder and click on Tenancies in the sidebar
  2. From the actions button, click on the digital signing events page; there are two options in the top right corner:
    1. Cancel: clicking cancel will formally cancel the document. All parties will be emailed that the tenancy agreement has been cancelled.
    2. Silent cancel: A silent cancel does not technically cancel the document but instead "expires" it. Clicking silent cancel will expire the document immediately, and no emails will be sent to any party.

If you cancel the contract to correct a mistake, after you have cancelled the contract sent for signing, you can duplicate the tenancy from the actions button, edit the duplicate, and make the changes. When the edits are complete, save and build the agreement. You can then send it for digital signing.
